Nostalgia for piano trio(piano, Violin and Cello)

This is a short descriptive piece for piano trio, which is based on a nighttime scene at Trinity Laban. At sunset, the colour of the sky has beautiful gradation, which smoothly changes from pale crimson to deep blue. Across the river, the skyline of the Canary Wharf twinkles brightly and evokes unexpected feelings of nostalgia and sentiment within me. In the music I try to convey these images and emotions with an emphasis on timbre and dissonant chords and develop changes in mood through variety in the melodic ideas.
